# How do I manage sections in Posts?

### Overview

The **sections** are the central organizational unit of the Posts application. Each section groups posts and controls who can post and who can read.

Each community receives, when created, a section called “News” followed by its name: its members read it and can post in it. See [What content does a new community receive?](/en/communautes/contenus-par-defaut.md).

### Create a section

From **Posts** you can manage and configure sections:

Each section is configured with:

* **Name** and **description**
* **Logo**
* **Contributors** : communities or specific members authorized to post in this section
* **Audience** : communities that have read access
* **Visibility** : shown on the main feed ("Featured") or accessible only from the section

### Edit a section

From Posts, manage your sections, click an existing section to:

* Edit its name, description, and image
* Change the contributors or the audience
* Edit visibility on the main feed

### Delete a section

Deleting a section is permanent. However, posts can be transferred to another existing section.

### Alert frequency

The administrator can configure the alert frequency by section, which determines how often members receive notifications for new posts in that section.

### Display on TV screens

Sections can also be displayed on Steeple TV screens.

### Permissions

| Role              | Rights                                                           |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Administrator** | Create, edit, delete sections. Manage contributors and audience. |
| **Contributor**   | Post in the sections assigned to them.                           |
| **Collaborator**  | Read posts from the sections they are part of the audience of.   |

### What the assistant can do

The assistant cannot manage sections directly. It can explain how to access them and how they work.
