# Week of 16/09/2026 — Calendar app

#### 📅 The “Events” app becomes “Calendar”

We are evolving the Events app to simplify everyday use. Nothing is lost: your events, your participations, birthdays, and work anniversaries are still there.

🆕 What has been updated

* **A clearer name:** “Events” is now called “Calendar”, accessible from the main menu of Steeple.
* **Calendars to organize your events:** No more single list: events are now arranged in calendars (e.g. “Salle Loire”, “CSE meetings”), categorized in the sidebar. Each calendar has its own color and its own read/write access rights, which determine who can see its events and who can add to it. Birthdays and work anniversaries also have their own dedicated calendar, at the top of the sidebar.
* **Two ways to display your events:** “List” view or “Calendar” view (week, month, year). Everyone chooses the display that suits them, and the preference is remembered from one visit to the next. Past events are no longer isolated on a separate page; they remain easily accessible by scrolling back up the list.
* **Recurrence, finally available:** An event that repeats (weekly meeting, monthly duty, etc.) no longer needs to be re-entered. Just define a rhythm (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) and an end date.
* **Participate, in one click:** The response to an event (“I’m attending”, “Maybe”, “Not attending”) remains accessible from the list, the Calendar preview or the event page, as long as it hasn’t passed.

ℹ️ This update also comes with simplified event creation, with the option to automatically create a group discussion or share the event on the news feed.
