# Create a feed

To create a feed, go to **Feeds** from the Steeple main menu.

## Automatic feed

An automatic feed automatically retrieves articles from an external source.

Supported sources:

* **RSS** : any valid RSS feed URL
* **Instagram** : URL of a public Instagram account
* **LinkedIn** : URL of a LinkedIn page
* **Facebook** : URL of a Facebook page
* **Custom URL** : another web source

### Steps

1. Click on **Add a feed**
2. Select the source type
3. Paste the source URL
4. Set visibility: **the whole organization** or **specific communities**
5. Validate

## Webhook activation

For certain sources that require event reception (webhooks), activate the webhook on the created feed.

The articles are then retrieved automatically. The feed displays a logo, the source title, and the articles with thumbnail, title, and date.

## Manual feed

A manual feed lets you create a content curation by adding articles one by one.

### Steps

1. Click on **Add a feed** > **Manual feed**
2. Give the feed a title
3. Set visibility: **the whole organization** or **specific communities**
4. Validate

You will then be able to add articles by pasting their URL.

## Visibility

The visibility of a feed is defined when it is created:

* **Organization** : visible to all members of the organization
* **Communities** : visible only to members of the selected communities

Visibility can be changed after creation.

## Permission required

Only users with the permission **Add feeds** can create feeds.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.steeple.com/en/feeds/feeds-creer-flux.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
