# Migrating an Elobox from EloView 3 to EloView 4

This page explains how to verify which version of the EloView cloud service an Elo box is communicating with, and how to switch it to **EloView 4 (EV4)**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Administrator access required** : these procedures require access to the box control panel and administration settings. Use the control panel and administrator passwords configured for your box. If they have not been changed, the default password may be **1elo**.
{% endhint %}

## A. Check the EloView version

1. Press the physical buttons simultaneously **HOME** and **POWER** on the back of the box to open the control panel. If you are prompted for a password and no custom password has been set, try **1elo**, or **tq6grk** if this is the first access to the settings.
2. Tap the **Menu** (hamburger) icon in the upper-right corner.

3. In the Quick Settings menu, tap **Admin**, then enter the administrator password. If no custom password has been set, try **1elo** or **Steeple**.
4. Tap **Settings/Settings**.

5. Tap **Diagnostics**.

   ![](https://608007981-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FByS0e17eM732OXdGGkme%2Fuploads%2FHVTmF74xT8rYNUNlh6S9%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=b1387ac3-9dce-4c75-82ef-da3b07416d97)
6. On the Diagnostics page, locate the **Cloud Service** : its value indicates the EloView service to which the box is connected.

   ![](https://608007981-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FByS0e17eM732OXdGGkme%2Fuploads%2FiHg9pFrr6WRYb9VP6dtF%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=b1fe92e0-c452-4975-9305-891858cdc79f)

**Result** : if **Cloud Service** shows **EloView 4** or **EV4**, the box is already communicating with EloView 4. No further action is required.

## B. Switch a box from EloView 3 to EloView 4

1. In **Choose Settings**, click **Elo Settings**.
