# How do I search for and view an employee?

### Search for an employee

Go to the'**Administration** section **Employees** (`/administration/users`).

The page displays a table with all the organization’s employees. Use the **search bar** at the top of the page to find an employee by last name, first name, or email.

#### Available filters

Click the **Filters** at the top of the table to display the options.

The table offers several filters to refine the search:

* **Status** : active, inactive, suspended, expired invitation
* **Last login date** : date range
* **Start date** : date range

#### Bulk actions

After filtering, select multiple employees using the checkboxes to perform **bulk actions** (send credentials, suspend, export, etc.).

#### Table columns

Each table row displays:

* **Last name** of the employee
* **Status** (active, suspended, etc.)
* **Last login date**
* **Start date**
* **Communities** (button with counter — click to view the list)

### View an employee profile

Click on an employee’s name in the table to access their detailed profile. This displays all their information: last name, first name, email, job title, department, site, phone, etc.

### View the directory

The application **Directory** (Directory) lets you view employees in different ways:

* **By department** : employees are grouped by department
* **By site** : employees are grouped by site/location

The fields visible in the directory depend on the profile field configuration (see the article on managing profile fields).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.steeple.com/en/administration/rechercher-consulter-collaborateur.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
